Woman Crush Wednesday!!!

Good afternoon!  Ugh, and since it’s already noon, I guess I better be getting my butt in gear.  I don’t know if it’s the rainy weather, the swing shift I worked Tuesday or my leg workout from Monday, but I am just driving the struggle bus this morning.  Probably a little of all of it.  Anyway, it’s Wednesday, and in the land of the internet, that can only mean one thing–#WCW !!  It’s time to share some women that I find inspirational to my body, mind and spirit.

Every week I post the same gal on my instagram as my wcw, and that is because she truly is my forever woman crush.  so lets just get this out of the way and move on–Miss Carmen Electra is only getting better and better and better with age.  The woman looks better at 42 than she did in her “Singled Out” hayday.  She has clearly sold her soul to someone (the god’s of Botox, the devil, an evil cat…who knows.)  and this is why I will forever bow down at her altar and replace the term “Praise Jesus” with “Praise the Goddess Carmen.”

It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with the lifestyle of 1950s/1960s America. I respect and admire the principles of the “housewife.”  When I was a kid, I grew up watching a lot of old Disney and Alfred Hitchcock films from this era.  The leading ladies were so beautiful, with their impeccable cat eye makeup and “put-together” ensembles.  One of my favorite leading ladies was from a wonderful Walt Disney film called “The Ugly Dachshund” –Suzanne Pleshette.  She was almost exotic looking, with a very distinct “elizabeth taylor”-ness about her.

Another beauty that captured my admiration as a girl was one of the “Hitchcock Blondes,” Tippy Hedren.  Although all of Hitchcock’s leading ladies were stunning, I loved her in “The Birds.”  She was everything I wanted to be–blonde, rich…and a little bitchy.

Another absolute favorite, and favorite movie, was Joan Staley, who played the character of Alma in “The Ghost and Mr.Chicken.”  Alma was such a wholesome, brunette “good girl” in the film, and it’s a delight to find out in my google searching that she was in fact a blonde sex kitten!  Meow!  Go Joan!

And on the subject of sex kittens, does it get any hotter than Racquel Welch?!  Another one that I’m fairly certain has sold her soul to the devil to look better with age, her and Carmen Electra simply MUST be in cahoots!!

When discussing inspirational women, I can’t forget to consider women who have inspired me mentally as well.

Not only is Amanda Latona probably my biggest fitness inspiration, but her positive attitude, realness and determination make her a fantastic role model.  For anyone who is trying to better themselves physically, I suggest you follow her.
